Baby, it’s cold outside…
Many in the GOP have made it a point to deny the effects of climate change. While it is each person’s individual right to choose what he or she believes, I can’t understand the benefit to denying our country the ability to invest in technology’s and advancements that would create job growth and economic stability.
To look at it from the perspective of the GOP; let’s say for a moment that man-made climate change is not a real threat. In this scenario, what are the negative effects of supporting the advancement of technology that would still remove our dependence on resources provided by the planet?
If by chance the scientific community is wrong in their beliefs and climate change is not in any way affected by humans, the creation of sustainable energy technology will have no effect on the climate.
It will, however, create new jobs and economic opportunities for our nation. Which in turn will lead to further development of technologies to advance the available technology smartphones
Let us not forget, Ken Olsen, founder of Digital Equipment Corporation once said, “There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home.”
Turns out he may have been mistaken.
(I typed this on my smart phone. A technology that employees thousands of people around the world in one fashion or another, that would never have been invented had we not taken the first steps with the home computer.)
